Junction 2021 Back to School Prayer Guide
Start with Praise
Things we can praise God for, even in this uncertain time: God is good, God loves us and cares for us, God hasn’t left us in difficult times, God is all powerful, God is all knowing, God is righteous, God never fails.
Thanksgiving
Thank God in this moment for all that he has done. We can be thankful for: Our church, our families, our communities, those brothers and sisters in Christ who are with us, Our teachers, Administrators, and Our Schools.
Specific prayers for this School Year.
Ask God to bless this year. The learning, friendships, and growth of each and every student.
Ask God to protect this school from harm, sickness, from anything that would keep it from its mission. Ask for God’s protection to surround this campus. Whether it is bullying or illnesses, pray that threats to the health and safety of the campus would be eliminated.
Pray that God would bless the teachers. to give them patience, good health, and that they would lead the children well. Pray that they would be able to teach in a way that produces understanding. Pray for God to give them peace and strength as they deal with the increased needs and demands of the classroom.
Pray that the administrators would be given wisdom and guidance to make the best decisions possible.
Pray that the support staff would be treated with gratitude and are able to see the difference they make in students’ lives. Pray that they would have the resources necessary to complete their job efficiently and effectively.
Pray that God would grant students knowledge and understanding. Pray that they would have perseverance to finish strong and that their great needs, both tangible and intangible, would be met.
Ask God to bless the families who’s children attend the school. That this would be a year of growth for them.
Ask God that our church would be a blessing to those students which attend this school, and that those students would share their faith with their classmates.
Ask that God would inspire this generation to pursue him.
Pray for specific students, teachers and administrators you know, or look up the school website, and pray for those teachers.
INVITE OTHERS TO PRAY
Invite others who have joined you to lead others in prayer, and then invite them to walk the grounds of the school and pray. Encourage them to pray specifically for the areas in which they walk. (Example, a sports field may prompt you to pray for that team to have a safe year, that they would honor you and represent the school well.) Encourage families who attend each school to pray for their children and the learning and growth that they will have that year.
